Plastic surgery prize for beauty pageant winner?
by Simon inthis is a bizarre story where a university held a beauty pageant in a night-club and the winners received vouchers for plastic surgery.. ok, apart from the wildly out of date neanderthal concept of lining girls up to rank their attractiveness and treat them as objects, the prizes simply make no sense.. surely those ranked right at the bottom should be the candidates for cosmetic surgery?
if someone is already beautiful, don't mess with it!.
the world is just bonkers..

"VI by any chance have you seen my post on this thread…"
Sorry john, I didn't read your post first. As for the full version of the name Yeshua/Yehoshua that's more along the lines of Rick which is short for Richard which in turn is short for Richardson. The name was contracted long ago (i.e. Joshua of the Old Testament).
The name that would count would be the name as it was pronounced by Jesus' mother. Anyone care to give her a call?

I spoke with James Penton in the early 1980s during the purge that started with Ray Franz and moved down to the rank and file. We were part of a phone tree network that spanned the entire United States and Canada (This was before the Internet).
He called me once and asked if I could go to Mexico as a spy to gather information on the military card issue. I had to say no because my Spanish was heavily accented in English and I felt that they would have become suspicious and blown my cover. I wish I could have.I've got a very old phone number of his that probably is no longer his but if anyone wants it they can PM me.

Mr.logic:
What is the correct spelling of Gods proper name"Yahweh or Jehovah"?
If the JW's maintain that Yahweh is more proper, why do they misspell it "Jehovah"? If the name of God is so important, then you should not only pronounce it correctly, but spell it correctly too.
That's like asking what the correct spelling and pronunciation of Jesus is. In the original Hebrew it is Yeshua (Joshua) which was transliterated into Iesous in Greek then Iesus in Latin which then morphed into the English Jesus.
Nobody pronounces the name Jesus as it really was pronounced so what's the point in quibbling over Yahweh (which is more closely Yahveh)?

They used to be in it for the power and not the money. They were, decades ago, very low key about their finances. Nowadays they're in it for both power and money. I can't believe how much they've changed from years ago.
I think they engage in double-think were they know and pretend not to know what they're doing. They BS and then fool themselves with their BS. No reason to give them the benefit of a doubt, they're as evil as any other dictator whatever it is that they believe.

Hang in there guy, I've been there myself until I got help. If you can afford it take some anti-depressants. They've helped me a lot once I found the right one.

Newspaper article: 'Rise of ISIS and earthquakes are WARNINGS before ARMAGEDDON destroys Earth'
by AndersonsInfo inhttp://www.express.co.uk/news/nature/581439/rise-isis-earthquakes-warnings-before-armageddon-apocalypse-end-destroys-volcanoes-earth.
the "end" of mankind, which has been long predicted by jehovah's witnesses, could happen as soon as this year - according to latest announcement from the christian religion.. in the latest edition of jehovah's witnesses monthly publication watchtower, an article translated into 700 languages - urges people to join the religion or face certain death when god sends his forces from the heavens to "remove all world leaders," "exterminate his enemies" and "rid the world of satan".. critics have lambasted the warning of a coming armageddon as yet another "failed prediction" by the religion, which has previously delivered similar alerts such as a foretold apocalypse in 1975.. indeed, jehovah's witnesses have been warning people of the need to recognise jehovah or face certain death when the "end" comes for more than 100 years.. the christian-based religion was founded in the 1870s by charles taze russell in pittsburgh, pennsylvania, us, as an offshoot from the bible studies movement.. today, there are 8.2million jehovah's witness evangelists, while 19.9 million celebrated their annual memorial festival marking christ's death - worldwide in 2014.. followers do not believe in military service and will not accept blood transfusions.. in a new eight-page article, watchtower said jehovah's witness leaders are now "convinced" humans are in their "final days" before the armageddon.. they cite an increase in global armed conflict, such as the rise of the islamic state terror group, as well as natural disasters such as volcanoes and earthquakes.. the lengthy article, written by an unnamed author, said: "will god let humans continue to dominate one another and threaten the future of mankind?
no, as we have seen, he will step in and bring an end to centuries of misery and oppression.

There's an irony between ISIS and Christianity. Muslims believe in end times also. According to their apocalyptic teaching they will have a messiah like leader who's referred to as Mahdi after the caliphate is established. Jesus will come down from heaven (!!!) and join the Mahdi in a fight against an antichrist figure. That will usher in an era of peace.

Deltawave: "What is the next book? I thought the was only this one?!"
His other book is In Search of Christian Freedom.
I was already out when I read his two books. It merely confirmed what I had already suspected. I considered it despicable how he was disfellowshipped simply for having a meal with his employer/landlord who had merely disassociated himself. .
One thing I liked about the book was how even handed it was. No bitterness shown although I would have understood if there was. I even spoke to him once over the phone before he wrote the book and was impressed by his humility.
